We’re Hinterland Screens. A family business built on screens, people, and doing things properly.
Hinterland Screens was started by Dick back in 1985, supplying doors and windows across South East Queensland. Long before security screens were common, Dick built a reputation for reliability, quality workmanship, and looking after his customers.
While Dick still helps out behind the scenes, today the business is run by Steve.
Steve met Dick’s daughter, Janey, and the two later married. Through that connection, Steve stepped into the family business. What started as lending a hand quickly turned into a full-time commitment.
Before screens, Steve worked as a landscaper, spending long days in the sun and learning the value of hard work, practicality, and showing up. That hands-on mindset carried straight into the business and still shapes how Hinterland Screens operates today.
Steve is a people person through and through. He enjoys helping homeowners feel safer, taking the time to explain options clearly, and making sure the job is done right. When he’s not installing screens, you’ll usually find him catching a wave or spending time with his wife and four kids.
